McKeesport man sought in fatal shooting

Allegheny County homicide detectives are searching for a man accused of a fatal shooting in McKeesport.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Dashawn Reid, 19, who is charged with homicide for the slaying of Jesse Thornton, 23, of McKeesport, at the Hi View Gardens aparment complex. Thornton was shot on Dec. 6 and died five days later at UPMC Presbyterian in Oakland.

Reid is a McKeesport native who has ties to Duquesne, Carrick, the West End and McKees Rocks, police said. He is a black man, 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighs 165 pounds.

Anyone who sees him is asked to call 911.
