'American Coyotes' Series

Traveling by Jeep, boat and foot, Tribune-Review investigative reporter Carl Prine and photojournalist Justin Merriman covered nearly 2,000 miles over two months along the border with Mexico to report on coyotes — the human traffickers who bring illegal immigrants into the United States. Most are Americans working for money and/or drugs. This series reports how their operations have a major impact on life for residents and the environment along the border — and beyond.

Police and firefighters spent several hours Thursday night searching for a missing 13-year-old boy before he was found in a wooded area near Montour High School in Robinson.

Allegheny County emergency dispatchers said a helicopter was brought in to help in the search for the teen, who authorities said is off his medication and ran off around 7:30 p.m. He was found shortly before 11 p.m. and was being examined by paramedics.
