Two teenagers who were injured late Friday afternoon when they jumped or fell from a railroad bridge in Wilkinsburg told police they were fleeing a man with a gun, Port Authority spokesman Jim Ritchie said.

The boys were taken to Children's Hospital in Lawrenceville with multiple leg and internal injuries after they plunged from the bridge to Wood Street, Ritchie said.

The Port Authority is conducting the investigation because the teens told police they were walking along a sidewalk on the East Busway when a man approached and began chasing them, Ritchie said.

The gunman is described as a light-skinned black man in his 20s, about 6 feet tall and wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt. Anyone with information is asked to call Port Authority Police at 412-255-1385.
