A kayaker spotted the body of a New Castle man Thursday at Moraine State Park, park officials said.

The Butler County coroner has yet to rule on a cause of death for Alvah R. Strickenburg III, 43. He was found on the shore of Lake Arthur near the McDaniels Boat Launch, said Jake Weiland, the park's assistant manager.

It is the second time this week that a body has been found in the park.

Nick Sopel, 62, of Lyndora had been missing since Nov. 14, when his car was found near the Route 422 bridge that spans Lake Arthur. He was found Tuesday with the use of an underwater camera donated to the park by his family to aid in the search for him.

The Butler County coroner ruled Sopel's death a suicide.
