A pedestrian was killed Monday when he was hit by a vehicle in the 4200 block of Ohio River Boulevard in Bellevue, a spokesman for the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office said.

The man, identified only as 67 and from McKees Rocks, was pronounced dead at the scene following the crash that was reported at 5:35 p.m., the spokesman said.

Traffic on the heavily traveled roadway, also known as Route 65, was blocked in both directions between Grant and Kendall avenues while Allegheny County accident reconstruction specialists conducted an investigation, county emergency dispatchers said.
