A North Huntingdon businessman failed to list a Fayette County chalet, 75 of the 102 firearms he owned and a 1932 Ford hot rod when he filed for bankruptcy in 2010, according to a federal indictment unsealed Friday.

A federal grand jury last Tuesday indicted Michael J. Free, 62, on four counts of bankruptcy fraud and one count each of concealing assets and making false oaths and claims.

There was no phone listing for Free and no attorney listed in court documents.

Westmoreland County deputy sheriffs seized the guns in 2012 after a federal bankruptcy judge cited Free, the owner of Electra Lighting and Electric Co., with civil contempt for hiding and selling his assets.

The indictment says he failed to account for more than $350,000 he made from selling assets. He also hid his ownership of four snowmobiles, a lawn tractor, miscellaneous tools and a flatbed trailer, prosecutors say.
