Adjunct faculty at Point Park University will vote via mail on whether to form a union, according to officials at the United Steelworkers Tuesday.

The Adjunct Faculty Association of the USW petitioned the National Labor Relations Board to hold a vote on organizing a union to represent 314 part-time teachers at Point Park sometime in the next two months.

Adjunct faculty at Duquesne University voted to join the AFA-USW in 2012, but the Catholic university refused to recognize the union, claiming a religious exemption from the NLRB's jurisdiction.
