A second child injured when a dresser fell on her and her sister in Aliquippa died on Sunday afternoon, authorities said.

Beaver County Coroner Teri Tatolovich-Rossi confirmed that Ryeley Beatty, 3, died at Children's Hospital in Lawrenceville, where the girl was transported after a dresser fell on her and her sister, Brooklyn, 2, on Friday.

Rossi said the girls appeared to have been playing in or around the bottom drawer of the dresser. Brooklyn died of asphyxiation from compression of her chest; an autopsy on Ryeley was scheduled for Sunday night or Monday morning.

Rebecca Beatty, the girls' aunt, lives in the house next door. She told WPXI-TV, the Tribune-Review's news partner, that she ran to help shortly after the accident.

“I heard the father screaming, yelling,” she said. “I rushed over, and because I'm a nurse, started CPR.”

Beaver County District Attorney Tony Berosh said Aliquippa police and the Beaver County Detective Bureau, which is part of his office, were awaiting results of the second autopsy before deciding whether to file charges against the girls' parents.

Brooklyn was pronounced dead on Friday in Heritage Valley Beaver hospital in Brighton.

Aliquippa Mayor Dwan Walker said a candlelight vigil for the girls is scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday on Irwin Street, where the girls lived.

“Everybody who worked that scene ... we were trying to console each other and the mom and dad,” Walker said. “I talked to Mr. Beatty (the girls' grandfather) ... to tell him the whole city was with him.”
