'American Coyotes' Series

Traveling by Jeep, boat and foot, Tribune-Review investigative reporter Carl Prine and photojournalist Justin Merriman covered nearly 2,000 miles over two months along the border with Mexico to report on coyotes — the human traffickers who bring illegal immigrants into the United States. Most are Americans working for money and/or drugs. This series reports how their operations have a major impact on life for residents and the environment along the border — and beyond.

Monday, Aug. 18, 2014, 10:24 a.m.

The eastbound express E-ZPass lanes at the Warrendale Toll Plaza will be closed 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, and the westbound lanes will be closed 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission.

The lanes are for E-ZPass customers and allow travel at normal highway speeds.

E-ZPass customers can still pay electronically at conventional E-ZPass lanes, which have a speed limit of 5 mph.

The closure is needed so that workers can perform routine maintenance on the electronic toll equipment.
