A North Side man who said he was a talent agent for children was arrested Saturday on child pornography.

Pittsburgh Public Safety spokeswoman Sonya Toler said investigators found that James Nathan Veenstra, 53, of Marshall-Shadeland had 2,401 pictures depicting boys and girls younger than 13 in sex acts or simulations of sex. According to court records, Veenstra was in the Allegheny County Jail awaiting trial on charges of sexually assaulting a child. Toler said it was unclear whether Veenstra made contact with any children through his claims of being a talent agent.

Investigators with the Sex Assault/Family Crisis Unit are asking anyone with information about him or his activities to call 412-323-7141.
