Newsmaker: Dr. Freddie H. Fu
Noteworthy: The American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine inducted Fu into its Hall of Fame on Friday during its annual meeting in Colorado Springs. The society chooses inductees based on their contribution to the sports medicine field.

Occupation: Chairman of orthopedic surgery at the University of Pittsburgh's School of Medicine and the head team physician for the university's athletic department.
Education: Undergraduate and post-graduate degrees from Dartmouth College and a medical degree from Pitt.
Background: Fu has specialized in sports medicine for four decades and has specialized in ACL surgery for the last 15 years. He has co-authored 173 book chapters and more than 570 peer-reviewed articles. He received the 2014 Elizabeth Winston Lanier Award from the Kappa Delta Sorority which recognizes outstanding orthopedic research.
