Motorcyclist killed in head-on collision in Beaver County

A Clinton motorcyclist died Wednesday night after being involved in a head-on collision in Beaver County, state police report.

William J. Way, 22, lost control of his Yahama V-Star motorcycle along Route 30 in Independence around 11:30 p.m., crossing the center line on Lincoln Highway and crashing into the front of a Nissan Versa driven by Daniel L. Murphy, 60, of Hookstown.

Troopers did not provide an estimated speed but said Way struck the windshield and landed about 30 feet from the collision. He died at the scene. Murphy was not injured.
