State police at Uniontown are looking for a 31-year-old Fayette County man in connection with two burglaries, including one this month in which jewelry valued at $100,000-$120,000 was taken from a Brownsville home.

Two arrest warrants have been issued for Timothy Allen McKinney Jr., last of New Salem, authorities said.

McKinney has been charged with receiving stolen property after a Brownsville man saw jewelry that belonged to him on Nov. 16 in a Uniontown store, police said.

The victim was speaking to the owner of Audio Lab when he saw several pieces of his late wife's jewelry in a display case, investigators said. At the time, the victim was searching for the jewelry and was in the store providing photos, an inventory of the stolen items and a letter about how the items were taken.

He contacted police, who then went to the store and found it closed. They further couldn't find the store owner, investigators said.

Police allege McKinney took part in discussions about the stolen jewelry. Audio Lab employees refused to cooperate on Monday, police said, so they got a search warrant.

Investigators found approximately 50 pieces of the Brownsville man's jewelry in the business, according to a police report.

Several hundred pieces remain missing, investigators said.

McKinney has been charged with burglary, theft, conspiracy, receiving stolen property and criminal mischief after jewelry valued at $8,000 was taken on Sept. 29, 2011, from a home along Searights Herbert Road in Menallen, police said.

An alleged accomplice took the jewelry to King's Jewelry Store in the Uniontown Mall and received $1,089 for the stolen goods, investigators said.

Police said they expect to file more charges.

McKinney is about 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighs 160 pounds and has hazel eyes and brown hair.

Police believe he is in Fayette County.

Anyone knowing McKinney's whereabouts is asked to contact Fayette County Crime Stoppers at 1-888-404-TIPS or crimestoppersfayette@gmail.com.

Anyone who provides information on McKinney's whereabouts could receive a reward of $1,000.
