'American Coyotes' Series

Traveling by Jeep, boat and foot, Tribune-Review investigative reporter Carl Prine and photojournalist Justin Merriman covered nearly 2,000 miles over two months along the border with Mexico to report on coyotes — the human traffickers who bring illegal immigrants into the United States. Most are Americans working for money and/or drugs. This series reports how their operations have a major impact on life for residents and the environment along the border — and beyond.

Armagh resident William Alan Hunt, 37, died in a car accident in Indiana County Monday afternoon.

Hunt was driving southeast on Hutchinson Hollow Road in East Wheatfield when his Toyota 4Runner veered off the left side of the road and struck two trees shortly before 12:40 p.m., according to a report from Indiana County Coroner Jerry L. Overman.

Hunt, who was not wearing a seat belt, was partially ejected from the car and pinned under the passenger side of the rolling vehicle. He died of crushing injuries to his chest and stomach, according to the report.

He was pronounced dead at 1:40 p.m.

Firefighters from Armagh, East Wheatfield and Clyde, along with Citizens Ambulance and state police, responded to the scene.

Funeral arrangements will be handled by the Richard C. Stuart Funeral Home in Armagh.
