Peters Township School District on Friday released the name of one of two employees the school board fired at its October meeting.

Kimberly Joyce, a bus driver, lost her job because state law grants board members the right to remove any employee for “incompetency, intemperance, neglect of duty, violation of any of the school laws of this Commonwealth, or other improper conduct,” according to the board's Oct. 15 meeting agenda.

Joyce could not be reached for comment.

The Tribune-Review filed a Right to Know request in October to obtain the names of the employees. Officials denied a request to provide the other name.

District solicitor Jack Cambest said in October that the firings were the result of unrelated incidents. He said both employees waived their right to hearings before the board.

Cambest said in October that the district continued to investigate one of the workers.

No children were harmed as a result of either incident, he added.

School officials did not return requests for comment. Cambest could not be reached on Friday.
