A Jeannette man was sentenced to 11 { 12) to 23 months in prison Friday for illegally possessing a handgun that didn't belong to him.

Brandon Allen Iapalucci, 20, pleaded guilty before Westmoreland County Judge John Blahovec to charges of receiving stolen property and a related weapons charge.

When authorities responded to a report of an argument between the defendant and a woman Jan. 27 on Penn Avenue, Iapalucci and Jeannette police Sgt. Keith Rosky scuffled. Iapalucci then took off on foot, according to court documents.

Rosky found a Smith & Wesson 9 mm pistol belonging to a Youngwood man on the seat of the vehicle Iapalucci was driving, documents said.
