Man snatches purse behind Westmoreland Mall

A Florida woman was the victim of a purse snatching Wednesday afternoon in a parking lot behind Westmoreland Mall, according to state police.

The suspect, described as a white man in his 20s, grabbed the 65-year-old woman's purse at 4 p.m. and ran to a waiting vehicle in the lot outside T.J. MAXX.

The suspect was thin with black hair and was wearing a white T-shirt and bright-colored shorts. He fled to a tan or gray four-door sedan. No registration was displayed, and the rear windows appeared to be tinted, police said.

The driver appeared to be a white woman in her 20s with light brown hair. Anyone with information is asked to call state police at 724-832-3288.
