Dorothy I. Kunkle

Lower Burrell

Dorothy I. "Dottie" Kunkle, 67, of Lower Burrell, died Monday, June 25, 2012, in her home. She was born May 21, 1945, in New Kensington, to the late Andrew V. and Dorothy V. Hicks Becker and had been a life resident of Lower Burrell. Dorothy worked as a salesperson for K-Mart in Allegheny Township, retiring with 18 years of service. She was a deacon, Bible School teacher and a member of Puckety United Presbyterian Church in Lower Burrell and was quite active in church activities. She was also a member of the former Bon Air Community Circle and enjoyed painting, ceramics and butterflies. She is survived by her husband, Arthur Dean Kunkle; stepdaughter, Deanna (Mark) Crawford; stepgrandchildren, Hannah and Samantha Crawford; siblings, Patricia L. (Garrett) Baker and Pauline M. (Paul) Yohe, of Lower Burrell, Richard Becker, of Vero Beach, Fla., Paula A. (Lois Jean) Becker, of West Deer, Ronald H. (Dora) Becker, of Jeannette, and Thomas M. (Patricia) Becker, of New Kensington; half brother, Thomas A. (Patricia) Stevens, of Cincinnati Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Wayne L. and Andrew Becker; and her first husband, Delmar "Brud" Coward. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the RUSIEWICZ OF LOWER BURRELL FUNERAL HOME, 3124 Leechburg Road at Alder Street, Lower Burrell. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday in Puckety United Presbyterian Church, Lower Burrell, by her pastor, the Rev. Kirk Orr. Everyone to meet at church. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
