Joan A. DeMore

Karns City

Joan A. DeMore, 81, of Karns City, died Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at the Chicora Medical Center. Born July 22, 1930, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of Hubert O. and Alice M. (Murphy) Hoffmann. Joan graduated from Sacred Heart Academy High School and on May 26, 1951, married John J. DeMore. Joan was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Bradys Bend, where she was a member of the Young at Heart. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles and sewing. Surviving are seven daughters, Janet Lizik and her husband, Robert, of Kittanning, Judy Donatelli and her husband, Robert, of Pittsburgh, Jane Klaus and her husband, Tim, of Winter Park, Fla., Joyce Brooks and her husband, Frank, of Orlando, Fla., JoAnn Klacic and her husband, Michael, of Pittsburgh, Jeanne Andreassi, of Altoona, and Jacqueline Campeau and her husband, Thomas, of Natrona Heights; and two sons, James DeMore and his wife, Dawn, of Gibsonia, and John and his wife, Jen DeMore, of Springdale. Joan is also survived by three sisters, Sylvia Procyk, Phyllis Raleigh and Alice Stringer; three brothers, Karl, Robert and John Hoffmann; 21 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John, who died Dec. 2, 1995; and one sister, Marilyn Sincevich. Friends of Joan A. DeMore will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the CHARLES B. BUECHELE FUNERAL HOME, 105 Fourth St., East Brady, PA 16028. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Bradys Bend, with the Rev. Douglas Dorula officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bradys Bend.
