George V. Klavonick Penn Township George V. Klavonick, 85, of Penn Township, died Tuesday, July 24, 2012, in Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville. He was born Aug. 12, 1926, in Pleasant Valley (Penn Township), a son of the late John and Mary Krivanich Klavonick. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a Mason/bricklayer for the International Union of Bricklayers Local No. 2. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Jeannette. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, having served as a navigator on a B29 Bomber in the Pacific and held the rank of major. He was a member of the Manor American Legion Post 472, the Knights of Columbus and loved his polka music. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Puharic Klavonick, in 1999; five brothers, John, Frank, Michael, Peter and Charles Klavonick; and two sisters, Ann Beiter and Evelyn Mosocco. He is survived by three daughters, Carol Smith and her husband, Mark, of Houston, Texas, Cheryl Klavonick, of Orlando, Fla., and Cindy Saddler and her husband, Keith, of Penn Township; and three grandchildren, Kelby and Erik Saddler and Taylor Smith; a niece, Rita Feld; a nephew, Joe Fallat; and a special friend, Pauline Anderson. Friends will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the JAMES E. LINDSAY FUNERAL HOME INC., 3343 Route 130, Harrison City. A blessing service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with Father Kenneth G. Zaccagnini officiating. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of ones choice.
