Florence M. Harmon Freeport Florence M. Harmon, 93, of Freeport, passed away Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012, in Saxony Health Center, Saxonburg. She was born April 20, 1919, in Vandergrift, to the late Forest C. and Marjorie M. (Hooven) Silvis. Florence resided most of her life in Tarentum, prior to moving to Freeport in 1975. Flo was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Brackenridge, where she was a very active member over the years. Mrs. Harmon was a nurse's aide and X-ray technician at Alle-Kiski Medical Center, Natrona Heights, for more than 15 years, prior to her retirement in 1984. She enjoyed watching football, spending time with family, and all of her "Freeport Pals." Flo is survived by her brother, Dallas G. Silvis, of Saxonburg; her son-in-law, Larry Harmon, of Providence Village, Texas; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and her nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents mentioned above, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold L. Harmon, in 1968; her two sons, Michael and Chris Harmon; and her daughter, Donna Lee Harmon. Family and friends may call from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, and from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral and committal services at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10, in the DENNIS J. DAUGHERTY FUNERAL HOME, 324 Fourth St., Freeport, 724-295-3100. Her pastor, the Rev. Jeffery Vanderhoff, and Pam Bonnett, minister of visitation, will co-officiate. Private burial will follow in Prospect Cemetery, Brackenridge.
