Robert E. Stockdill
Robert E. Stockdill, 76, on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2001, in Jefferson Center Hospital, Jefferson Hills. He was born Nov. 19, 1925, in McKeesport, son of the late Thomas and Esther (Barlow) Stockdill. Mr. Stockdill was a retired electrician with I.B.E.W. Local #5 in Pittsburgh. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army as a private 1st class. He was a life member, former choir director and Sunday school teacher of Elizabeth Baptist Church. He was past president and secretary, and former leaderdog chairman of the Elizabeth Lions Club. He is survived by his wife, Alberta (Ammon) Stockdill; daughters, Esther J. (Doug) Coy of Cynthiana, Ky., Dorothy A. (Steve) Whitmer of Elizabeth, Rebecca L. DeAngelis of West Mifflin, Laurie M. (Jay) Edwards of Bentleyville and Rachel E. (Richard) Emery of Dawson, Pa.; sons, Robert J. (Ruth) of Collinsville, Miss., Timothy W. (Karen) of Elizabeth and Charles F. (Christine) Stockdill of Buena Vista, Pa.; stepdaughter, Linda (George) Young of LaPorte, Texas; stepsons, James L. (Janet) Ammon of New Castle, Terry Lee (Cheryl) Ridgeway of Humble, Texas, and Edwin E. Ridgeway of LaPorte, Texas; a brother, Thomas J. Stockdill of West Mifflin; 21 grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and several foster children. He was predeceased by his first wife, Dorothy G. McKenna Stockdill. Visitation Tuesday 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the PAUL E. BEKAVAC FUNERAL HOME, 221 Second St., Elizabeth. Funeral Service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in Elizabeth Baptist Church with the Rev. David Myers officiating. Chapel service and interment in Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth Twp.
