Clyde W. Griffiths, 70, of East Brady RD1 (Sugarcreek Township), died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2002 at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital, East Franklin Township.
He was born April 1, 1931 in Frogtown (Sugarcreek Township) to Lester and Mae (McElhaney) Griffiths.
Mr. Griffiths retired from Penreco in Karns City. He also worked at Butler Battery in Butler.
An Army veteran, he served during the Korean War.
He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ.
His other memberships included the Frogtown Wildlife Club and Antique Automobile Club of America.
He was an avid hunter.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred (Kiser) Griffiths; one son, James Griffiths of East Brady RD1; two daughters, Patricia Alcibiade of Mt. Zion, Ill. and Cindy Griffiths, at home; five grandchildren, Chrichele, Derek and Veronica Griffiths, and Erica and Keith Alcibiade; one brother, Harry Griffiths of Sugarcreek Township and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
GRIFFITHS - Friends of Clyde W. Griffiths, 70, of East Brady RD1 (Sugarcreek Township), who died Jan. 16, 2002, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, Inc., Cowansville. Additional visitation will be from 10 a.m. until funeral services at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Chicora RD1 with the Rev. Joseph Kiewra officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Chicora RD1. Arrangements by Snyder-Crissman.
