If you want to know how much of a joke the “fiscal cliff” legislation really is, consider this: The Senate received the 154-page bill and “budget score” at 1:36 a.m. on New Year's Day. It voted to approve the measure at 1:39 a.m., reports CNSNews.com. Senators must have really stretched their brains for that intensive study that lasted all of 3 minutes. ... Over in the House, leaders violated a 2010 pledge to give the public three days to read any and all legislation before taking any vote. And members of Congress really wonder why the public considers them all to be less than skunks? ... President Obama's round-trip flight from Hawaii to Washington and back to Hawaii again in the “fiscal cliff” crisis cost taxpayers $3.6 million, The Weekly Standard reports. To which Americans should respond: “Thank you, Mr. President, may I have another?!”
