Thanks from Jersey
I live in Jersey City, N.J. On a recent evening while walking the street during the post-Sandy snowstorm, I came across an unfortunate fellow who apparently had fallen in the snow and was injured.
He could not speak, blood foamed from his mouth and pooled beneath his head; 911 was called and an ambulance arrived within minutes. To my surprise, the ambulance was not from the Jersey City Medical Center but from Fayette County, Pa.
I wish to convey my gratitude to the Fayette EMS and the community that supports it.
From visiting the Trib website's Opinion/The Review page, I can see that popular political sympathies differ greatly between your community and my own. No matter.
What does matter is Americans know that when a neighbor is in need, they must lend a helping hand because that is what good neighbors do for each other. It is a noble expression of the American experience that will unite us all.
I hope this season finds Fayette County and all Trib readers in safety and peace. God bless America.
