Fund mental health

I agree with the Dec. 18 letter “Address mental health needs.”

One fact stands out in the school shootings, the attack on the Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic in Pittsburgh and the Colorado movie theater slaughter: The killer had serious mental problems.

There always seems to be plenty of money for foreign aid and Middle East wars, but never enough to provide help for the mentally ill. Because mental illness generally is considered non-life threatening, it takes a back seat in the health issues facing our population.
