The way President Obama and the rest of our Washington rulers handled the latest fiscal-cliff crisis reminded me of Rodney Dangerfield's favorite doctor, Dr. Vinnie Boombatz. Rodney explained that Dr. Vinnie was such a great guy that if your X-ray showed you needed a serious and expensive operation and you didn't want to undergo the pain and expense, he would touch up the X-ray for 20 bucks.

Our national fiscal X-ray shows we have a serious and perhaps fatal spending problem, but since we don't want the pain and expense of necessary cuts in spending, Dr. Barack Boombatz will touch up the X-ray for just a few tax increases. And the media will tell you what a great guy he is!

Yes, our bloated spending tumor is growing faster than ever, but the “rich” are starting to pay their “fair share,” and doesn't that make you feel better?
