False idols

I saw a bumper sticker the other day: “Pro-Life, Pro-God, Pro-Gun.” It even had a heart next to a cross, beside a handgun. I had to ask myself, “Is that a slogan or an insanity plea?”

As Christians, we should be focused on the words of Christ — “Put back your sword into its place; for all those who take up the sword shall perish by the sword” — and on the sixth commandment, “Thou shalt not kill,” instead of worshiping the NRA gun lobby and its twisted version of the Second Amendment.
