'American Coyotes' Series

Traveling by Jeep, boat and foot, Tribune-Review investigative reporter Carl Prine and photojournalist Justin Merriman covered nearly 2,000 miles over two months along the border with Mexico to report on coyotes — the human traffickers who bring illegal immigrants into the United States. Most are Americans working for money and/or drugs. This series reports how their operations have a major impact on life for residents and the environment along the border — and beyond.

Top pick: Class act

In today's sports world, everyone wants to write about the negative. That being said, my brother has put on a memorial golf outing to continue my dad's legacy for six years now.

This year, he decided to have a Steeler come to sign autographs and meet people. The original Steeler guest had to cancel and first-round draft pick Jarvis Jones stepped up to the plate to replace him.

Let me tell you that Jones was the most polite, well-mannered young man that I've met in a long time. He played with my kids, talked to everyone about anything and, most of all, had fun with his time at the event.

Sometimes in today's society, there are not many things publicized about the good that these athletes do. However, this young man is not only going to be a factor on the field as No. 95, but he is going to be a class act in Steeler Nation!
