Tyranny, not liberty

Regarding the editorial “Same-sex marriage: Liberty restored” (June 27 and The Trib must have an unusual definition of “liberty.”

The voters of California voted not once, but twice, to adhere to the ordinary, traditional definition of marriage. With the Defense of Marriage Act, our duly-elected officials in Congress enacted bipartisan legislation doing the same.

In both cases, the properly enacted will of the people was swept aside by a handful of judges imposing their own views. This is not liberty. It is tyranny.
