'American Coyotes' Series

Traveling by Jeep, boat and foot, Tribune-Review investigative reporter Carl Prine and photojournalist Justin Merriman covered nearly 2,000 miles over two months along the border with Mexico to report on coyotes — the human traffickers who bring illegal immigrants into the United States. Most are Americans working for money and/or drugs. This series reports how their operations have a major impact on life for residents and the environment along the border — and beyond.

Tarentum fireworks are viewed and enjoyed by many. It's a huge community event.

The Tarentum fireworks display is sponsored by Summit Hose Fire Co., located in West Tarentum. I would like to thank these dedicated firemen for their hard work and commitment to this project.

They raise the money for this event by doing boot drives, collecting donations from businesses, organizations and private donors and selling raffle tickets.

So, next time they are collecting, remember the fireworks and pitch in. Every dollar helps.

It takes a great deal of money to put on a show. How lucky we are to have these fireworks right here in our hometown.

Support your firemen.
