Letter to the Editor
Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, 8:57 p.m.

The writer of the letter “Humble pie for dessert?” (Sept. 12 and TribLIVE.com) about the Pirates' success this season wants to celebrate mediocrity — at best.

Winning once in 20 years? Come on, set the bar a little higher. Of course, maybe that is all the higher you wish to go.

Just think: The Pirates can lose for another 20 years and you will reward them with your die-hard support. In doing so, be careful and don't trip over the bar.
