Letter to the Editor
Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013, 9:01 p.m.

I am not an avid sports fan, but I applaud Franco Harris for his efforts to defend the late Coach Joe Paterno against the Penn State Board of Trustees. I agree with Franco — the trustees should resign or be removed for their actions against Paterno.

The NCAA's action to erase 112 of Paterno's victories from the record book is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. No one can change history. Could someone rule slavery never existed? Maybe someone will decide the Holocaust or 9/11 never happened?

Paterno had the most wins in football history. That can not be changed and the NCAA's ruling should be ignored.
