So, let me understand this: The same tea party that promoted candidates who lost the five or six Senate seats that would have given Republicans leverage in the latest budget battle tortured the country with this Washington performance art.

It is difficult to believe Republicans were too cowardly to stand up to the people who nominated Todd Akin, Christine O'Donnell and Richard Mourdock.
