Letter to the Editor
Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, 9:00 p.m.

Comparing the tea party to the Ku Klux Klan is a subject that U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson, D-Fla., who did so in a campaign email, should be familiar with.

Do the following names mean anything? Nathan Bedford Forrest, Lester Maddox, George Wallace, Orval Faubus, Al Gore Sr., Strom Thurmond and one-time Klan member Robert Byrd were all dedicated to keeping blacks from obtaining their legal rights, and they were all Democrats.

Grayson needs a history course. As Bugs Bunny would say, “What a maroon.”
