Letter to the Editor
Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, 9:00 p.m.

Food experts have many tips for preparing a banquet, saying “do this” and “don't do that.” But according to Luke 14:13, Jesus has only two rules, which are:

1. Don't invite your friends, your brothers, your relatives or your wealthy neighbors.

2. Invite the poor, the crippled, the lame and the blind.

And every year, we simply ignore that and prepare a banquet in his name by doing the exact opposite.
