Letter to the Editor
Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, 9:00 p.m.

Well, here we go again.

For the 27th time since Sandy Hook, we have a school shooting — this time, a 12-year-old is the suspect in the shooting of two classmates in New Mexico.

And there has been another theater shooting also, in Florida — a man shot dead for texting his 3-year-old daughter, allegedly by an ex-policeman.

At what point does one's right to choose to own a gun outweigh the rest of the population's right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness? It seems to me that being slaughtered innocently surely wipes out all three.
