'American Coyotes' Series

Traveling by Jeep, boat and foot, Tribune-Review investigative reporter Carl Prine and photojournalist Justin Merriman covered nearly 2,000 miles over two months along the border with Mexico to report on coyotes — the human traffickers who bring illegal immigrants into the United States. To Nafari Vanaski: I suspect that your column “Vanaski: Heroes also walk on 2 legs” has echoed the sentiments of many in the aftermath of the K-9 “Officer” Rocco memorial extravaganza. It is something that had to be said. My hat's off to you for saying it.
