'American Coyotes' Series

Traveling by Jeep, boat and foot, Tribune-Review investigative reporter Carl Prine and photojournalist Justin Merriman covered nearly 2,000 miles over two months along the border with Mexico to report on coyotes — the human traffickers who bring illegal immigrants into the United States. Most are Americans working for money and/or drugs. This series reports how their operations have a major impact on life for residents and the environment along the border — and beyond.

Letter to the Editor
Monday, Aug. 11, 2014, 9:00 p.m.

I'm weeping for America as Jesus wept over Jerusalem because of the destruction he foresaw.

The enemies of our way of life have been voted into power. Many are devotees of Saul Alinsky, who wrote the book “Rules for Radicals” and is the founder of community organizing.

Dinesh D'Souza, a naturalized American citizen who appreciates our country more than most of us because he has seen an alternative, is using his documentary films “Obama's America 2016” and “America” to warn us about the future.

The blame of this situation lies more with the voters than the elected ones.

America has chosen to make laws endorsing things God calls sin. He can't bless such a nation.

I find comfort knowing God is in control and, as his child, he will care for me and mine.
