Letter to the Editor
Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2014, 9:00 p.m.

I've a question for Bob Sevcik, writer of the letter “Punishment the point” urging against relaxation of NCAA sanctions on Penn State football: What if the child abuser is a police officer? Do you shut down the entire police department?

How about if he's a doctor? Should we close the hospital? Politician, shut down government? Cashier, close the store? Etc.

Abusers come from all walks of life. I'm guessing you would be happy if we shut down the Catholic Church, too.
