Ex-Im Bank aids businesses
I am writing in response to your editorial “Meet the Export-Import Bank Republican ignorami, purveyors of crock” criticizing members of Congress for voting in support of the U.S. Export-Import Bank. Since President Reagan worked to reform and reauthorize Ex-Im in the 1980s, it has served as a boon to the Pennsylvania economy. In the last decade alone, the bank has helped support 40,000 Pennsylvania jobs while returning billions to U.S. taxpayers.
Pennsylvania needs more leaders like representatives Mike Kelly, Tim Murphy and Bill Shuster, who, along with 13 other members of our Pennsylvania congressional delegation, have proven themselves strong advocates for Pennsylvania manufacturers and the workers we employ. As a longtime Pennsylvania manufacturer, I have seen firsthand how the Ex-Im Bank helps my business by making it easier to sell American-made goods overseas. I thank those in Congress who voted to reauthorize and reform Ex-Im. Now it's time for the Senate to finish the job.
