Pittsburgh's sports talk radio landscape is changing again, with Clear Channel's WBGG-AM 970 set to become the new home of ESPN Radio on Jan. 1.

ESPN 1250 ended its local programming in late September, fired six on-air employees and switched to ESPN national programming for the remainder of the year. The station will become Radio Disney on Jan. 1.

The new ESPN Radio 970 will incorporate national programs "Mike and Mike in the Morning," with Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic, from 6 to 10 a.m., and "The Scott Van Pelt Show," with the host and Ryen Russillo, from 2 to 4 p.m. Local shows are "In the Locker Room with Tunch and Wolf," with Tunch Ilkin and Craig Wolfley, from 10 a.m. to noon, and the "Joe Bendel Show" from 4 to 7 p.m. The noon to 2 p.m. slot will be filled by the syndicated "Jim Rome Show."

As for local shows currently on 1250, including "Going Hollywood with LaMarr Woodley" on Tuesdays, "Black and Gold Uncensored," with James Farrior and Larry Foote on Wednesdays and "The Trib Total Media High School Football Pregame Show," with Trib columnist Kevin Gorman on Fridays, plus Penn State football broadcasts, Clear Channel Pittsburgh president and market manager Dennis Lamme said they are still working on the lineup and will release more information once details are confirmed.

The station, currently Fox Sports 970, now features Greg Linnelli, from 6 to 9 a.m., Dan Patrick from 9 to 11 a.m., Tunch and Wolf from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Jim Rome from 1 to 3 p.m. and Bendel from 3 to 7 p.m.

The station is also the AM host to the Steelers, Penguins and West Virginia football and basketball.
