Rontez Miles hasn't played a game in more than a month, but the accolades keep coming.

The California (Pa.) senior defensive back earned two All-America honors this week. Miles, a Woodland Hills graduate, repeated as an American Football Coaches Association Division II All-America. He's one of three D-II players to receive the AFCA distinction in 2011 and '12.

He also was selected as a first-team Daktronics All-American following a season in which he led the Vulcans with 75 tackles and four interceptions.

Teammate BJ Stevens, a junior defensive lineman who attended Gateway, also was named a first-teamer by Daktronics.

• Shippensburg junior quarterback Zach Zulli was honored as Offensive Player of the Year as part of the Daktronics D-II All-America team. Zulli, a finalists for the Harlon Hill Trophy as the top player in D-II, leads all of college football with 54 touchdown passes and is tops in D-II with 4,747 passing yards. Junior defensive end Jake Metz was voted as a first-team All-American, and sophomore receiver Trevor Harman was picked as a second-teamer.

• Three senior Indiana (Pa.) players earned second-team spots from Daktronics: running back Harvie Tuck, defensive back Johnny Franco and offensive lineman Dan Matha.

• Duquesne junior linebacker Dorian Bell (Gateway) was named a third-team FCS All-American by The Sports Network.

• Three Waynesburg players — senior tight end Adam Moses, senior punter Zack Rogers (Bishop Canevin) and junior defensive end Brandon Fedorka (Hopewell) — and Carnegie Mellon senior cornerback Liam McGrath were selected to the ECAC's Division III South All-Star team

Hockey

• Freshman goaltender Matthew Skoff, a McKees Rocks native, made 18 saves for his first career shutout in Penn State's 4-0 win over Fredonia State on Tuesday.

Soccer

• West Virginia's Eric Schoenle and Uwem Etuk along with Penn State's John Gallagher were among 54 seniors invited to the 2013 MLS Player Combine from Jan. 11-15 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. They're eligible for the 2013 SuperDraft on Jan. 17. Schoenle, a two-time All-American, led the Mountaineers with six goals. Etuk recorded two goals and a team-leading six assists. Gallagher, a defender, had two assists.

• West Virginia senior defender Bry McCarthy is spending the next week in Vancouver, British Columbia, training with the Canadian women's national team. She is one of 27 players at the camp, which will help determine the roster for a Canadian squad that took bronze in the London Olympics. McCarthy, the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year, is from Ajax, Ontario.

• Penn State Behrend junior Eric Vunovic (Norwin) was honored as an ECAC Division III South Division All-Star. He had a career-high nine goals to go with eight assists this season.

• Washington & Jefferson senior Chrissy Marcius (Norwin) repeated as an ECAC South Division All-Star. She scored 10 goals and tied her school record with 14 assists.

Wrestling

• Clarion's James Fleming (West Mifflin) was named Outstanding Wrestler at the PSAC Tournament after winning the title at 157 pounds Saturday. Fleming went 3-0 to improve to 15-0 this season. Clarion faces Edinboro and Northwestern in a double dual Saturday. Fleming, ranked No. 3 in the country in his weight class, will face No. 2 Jason Welch of Northwestern.

• Edinboro defended its PSAC title, with all 10 of its wrestlers placing. The Fighting Scots won with 160.5 points, followed by Clarion (140) and Bloomsburg (134). Edinboro's individual champions — all sophomores who repeated — were A.J. Schopp (133 pounds), Mitchell Port (141) and Dave Habat (149).

• Penn State sophomore Nico Megaludis (Franklin Regional) pinned Indiana's Joe Duca to help the top-ranked Nittany Lions roll, 52-0, in the Big Ten dual meet opener for both teams Sunday.

• Burrell senior Dakota Deslauriers will continue his wrestling career at Mercyhurst. He's ranked first in the state at 182 pounds.

Indoor track and field

• Pitt junior Carvin Nkanata recorded the eighth-fastest 300-meter time in NCAA history over the weekend, winning the event in 33.13 seconds at the Golden Flash Gala at Kent State. The mark, the fastest in the nation this season, broke a 25-year-old Pitt record and set a Kenyan national record. Nkanata also helped the 1,600-meter relay team record the third-fastest time in the nation this season (3:11.00). Jonnique Lawrence broke the school record in the women's 300 (38.20 seconds).

• Slippery Rock junior Derick Fiedler won the heptathlon at Edinboro last weekend with 4,870 points, which is the fourth-best score in the nation this season.
