The St. Vincent College men's basketball team will face No. 24 Ohio Wesleyan in a first-round NCAA Division III Tournament game at 7 p.m. Saturday in Delaware, Ohio, in the Bearcats' first tournament appearance.

Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for students. No conference or institutional passes will be accepted.

The winner will advance to play either Hampden-Sydney or Cabrini on March 9 at a site and time to be determined.

Both teams earned automatic bids by winning their respective conference tournament championships Saturday.

St. Vincent (23-5) claimed the Presidents' Athletic Conference championship with an 81-67 victory over Thomas More. Ohio Wesleyan (22-5) beat Wooster, 76-66, to take the North Coast Athletic Conference title.

Meanwhile, St. Vincent senior guard Chris Klimchock has been named to the all-Presidents' Athletic Conference first team. Junior forward Dillon Stith earned second-team honors and junior guard Isaac Turner was named to the honorable mention squad.

Klimchock ranks second on the team in scoring (15.9 ppg) and leads in assists (92) and steals (47). Stith is averaging 11.6 points and 5.2 rebounds per game and Turner is the team's leading scorer at 16.2 ppg.

Women's basketball

St. Vincent, which concluded a 20-7 season with a loss to Washington & Jefferson in the Presidents' Athletic Conference tournament semifinals, placed three players on the all-PAC team.

Senior guard Devin McGrath earned first-team honors, averaging a team-leading 16.1 points and 10.3 rebounds per game. Senior guard Melissa Mansur (6.9 ppg, 5.0 rpg) was named to the honorable mention team.

W&J sophomore center Valerie Dunlap, a Latrobe High School graduate who scored 15 points in the victory over St. Vincent, was a second-team selection.

Football

Derry High School kicker Tyler Matusak has signed a letter of intent to play football at NCAA Division II Slippery Rock. Matusak also received an offer from Division I Marshall.

Men's lacrosse

Senior Anthony Altieri scored a hat trick, including the game-winning goal in overtime, as St. Vincent opened its season on the road with an 11-10 victory over Marywood. The Bearcats play are scheduled to play their home-opener at noon on Saturday against Bethany (W.Va.).

Softball

In a tight race for the top spot in the Presidents' Athletic Conference preseason poll, St. Vincent was chosen to finish sixth among 10 teams, despite garnering a league-high three first-place votes. Westminster (Pa.) was picked to win the conference with 77 points, followed by Geneva, Bethany (W.Va.) and Thiel in a tie for second with 74 points, Thomas More in fifth with 73 points and St. Vincent with 71 points.

The league lists junior pitcher Ally Vrcek and senior pitcher Emily Lauterbach as Bearcats players to watch.

St. Vincent, which won the PAC regular-season championship on its way to a record of 24-16 in 2012, plays the first of five consecutive games in Clermont, Fla., to open the new year against Moravian on Sunday.
