'American Coyotes' Series

Traveling by Jeep, boat and foot, Tribune-Review investigative reporter Carl Prine and photojournalist Justin Merriman covered nearly 2,000 miles over two months along the border with Mexico to report on coyotes — the human traffickers who bring illegal immigrants into the United States. The Gannon women's basketball team couldn't hold on to a six-point halftime lead and lost to Ashland (Ohio), 74-63, in a Division II Elite Eight matchup Tuesday in San Antonio.

Doriyon Glass led Gannon (31-5), the Atlantic Regional champion, with 17 points. Brittany Batts scored 13.

Daiva Gerbec led Ashland (36-1) with 23 points, and Taylor Woods scored 21. Ashland outscored the Lady Knights, 49-32, in the second half.
