'American Coyotes' Series

Traveling by Jeep, boat and foot, Tribune-Review investigative reporter Carl Prine and photojournalist Justin Merriman covered nearly 2,000 miles over two months along the border with Mexico to report on coyotes — the human traffickers who bring illegal immigrants into the United States. Most are Americans working for money and/or drugs. This series reports how their operations have a major impact on life for residents and the environment along the border — and beyond.

Penn State Greater Allegheny added the Penn State University Athletic Conference postseason title to its regular-season championship with a 10-1 blowout of Penn College in the tournament final Saturday in State College.

Serra Catholic graduate Oliver Girman was named the tournament MVP.

It is the second time in three years that the Lions have won the PSUAC championship.

In any other year, the win would have sent Penn State Greater Allegheny to the United States Collegiate Athletic Association World Series, but as the host team, the Lions already had a spot reserved in the tournament.

Penn State Greater Allegheny will not play again until May 4 when it hosts Community College of Allegheny County South Campus. It will be the last warm-up before the World Series opens May 6 at Pullman Park in Butler against an opponent to be determined.
