'American Coyotes' Series

Traveling by Jeep, boat and foot, Tribune-Review investigative reporter Carl Prine and photojournalist Justin Merriman covered nearly 2,000 miles over two months along the border with Mexico to report on coyotes — the human traffickers who bring illegal immigrants into the United States. Most are Americans working for money and/or drugs. This series reports how their operations have a major impact on life for residents and the environment along the border — and beyond.

The start of Penn State University Athletic Conference play failed to end Penn State New Kensington's skid.

Unable to keep its opponent below triple digits for a fourth straight game, PSNK fell to Penn State Beaver, 100-78, at home Tuesday night. The local Lions (1-4, 0-1), who have lost four straight, trailed Penn State Beaver, 47-33, at halftime.

Daryl Harrington finished with a team-high 20 points for PNSK. He made 12 of 17 free throws and also had five rebounds, five assists and three steals. Shaquille Hager followed with 17 points and had nine rebounds and two blocks.
