College basketball roundup: No. 6 Kansas downs Iowa State in OT

LAWRENCE, Kan. — Freshman Ben McLemore had a career-high 33 points, including a tying 3-pointer with a second left in regulation, and No. 6 Kansas rallied to beat Iowa State, 97-89, in overtime Wednesday night.
McLemore was 10 of 12 from the field and perfect on six 3-pointers for the Jayhawks (13-1, 1-0 Big 12), who scored the first nine points of overtime to wrap up their 12th straight win.
Iowa State (10-4, 0-1) poured in 14 3-pointers, and forged a 79-76 lead with 8.4 seconds left in regulation.
No. 2 Michigan 62, Nebraska 47 — In Ann Arbor, Mich., Glenn Robinson III had 14 points, including a pair of crucial dunks in the second half, and Michigan equaled its best start to a season.
No. 3 Louisville 73, Seton Hall 58 — In Newark, N.J., Gorgui Dieng had 16 points and 14 rebounds — both season highs — to lead Louisville to its ninth straight win.
It was the second straight double-double for Dieng, who only returned to the lineup Dec. 2.
No. 7 Syracuse 72, Providence 66 — In Providence, R.I., C.J. Fair scored 23 with 11 rebounds, and Michael Carter-Williams scored 17 with six assists as Syracuse rallied from a nine-point, first-half deficit.
No. 8 Minnesota 84, No. 12 Illinois 67 — In Champaign, Ill., Joe Coleman scored 29 points and Andre Hollins added 22 to help Minnesota top Illinois.
No. 11 Florida 77, Georgia 44 — In Gainesville, Fla., Mike Rosario scored 19 points, Erik Murphy added 11 despite playing with a broken rib, and Florida (11-2) opened SEC play with a victory.
The Gators extended their recent dominance against the Bulldogs (6-8), winning for 16th time in the last 19 meetings.
No. 14 Butler 72, Saint Joseph's 66 — In Philadelphia, Rotnei Clarke scored 28 points, and Andrew Smith had 24 points and 10 rebounds to lead Butler.
Clarke made six 3-pointers to help the Bulldogs (13-2, 1-0 Atlantic 10) win their 10th straight game.
No. 20 N.C. State 83, Ga. Tech 70 — In Raleigh, N.C., Lorenzo Brown had 21 points and 10 assists, and North Carolina State pulled away late for its ninth straight win.
Scott Wood added 20 points, and C.J. Leslie had 19 in his 10th straight game in double figures for the Wolfpack (13-2, 2-0 Atlantic Coast Conference).
No. 23 Wichita State 82, Southern Illinois 76 — In Wichita, Kan., Cleanthony Early scored 39 points to help Wichita State beat Southern Illinois.
West Virginia 57, Texas 53 (OT) — In Austin, Texas, Aaric Murray scored 12 points to help West Virginia prevail in overtime.
Jabarie Hinds added 11 points for the Mountaineers (8-6, 1-1 Big 12), who won their first conference game since moving over from the Big East this season.
Jonathan Holmes had 12 points for Texas (8-7, 0-2), which gave up a double-digit lead in the final 5 minutes of regulation, then scored only three points in the extra period.
West Virginia 53, Texas 49 — In Morgantown, W.Va., Ayana Dunning had 19 points, Christal Caldwell scored 16, and the Mountaineers (9-5, 1-2 Big 12) beat the Longhorns.
Empress Davenport led Texas (7-7, 0-3) with 14 points.
