Duke, Syracuse highlight Pitt's ACC home basketball schedule

The Pitt men's basketball team will host Duke and Syracuse in its inaugural season in the ACC, the university announced Tuesday.

Pitt, Syracuse and Notre Dame will officially leave the Big East in July. Louisville will join the ACC in 2014 when Maryland leaves for the Big Ten.

The Panthers, who finished 24-9 in 2012-13, will play an 18-game regular-season schedule — nine games at home and nine away — in facing all 14 conference members at least once.

Pitt will play Clemson, Maryland, N.C. State and Syracuse twice, once each home and away.

Clemson, Duke, Florida State, Maryland, N.C. State, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and Syracuse will visit Petersen Events Center during the 2013-14 season. Pitt will play games at Clemson, Boston College, Maryland, Miami, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, N.C. State, Notre Dame and Syracuse.

The ACC Tournament is March 12-16 at Greensboro Coliseum.
