Pitt was shut out of the draft for the second year in a row, but four former Panthers were prepared to sign contracts Saturday night as undrafted rookies, including running back Ray Graham, the second-leading rusher in Pitt history.

Graham, whose injury-plagued junior and senior seasons probably kept him from getting drafted, said he agreed to contract terms with the Houston Texans.

Others who said they were planning to sign NFL contracts were wide receiver Mike Shanahan and center Ryan Turnley, according to their agent, Bill Parise. Tight end Hubie Graham also was headed to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to agent Casey Muir.

Shanahan (Norwin) will become a tight end with the New York Jets, and Turnley (Hopewell) will go the Buffalo Bills.
